Well almost back…..It is market week!

My prayer for 2010 has been to have a desire to read. Thanks to my great husband he and I are reading a book together! Crazy Love by Frances Chan.

May 2010 find you more in Love with God… and of course if you are married … more in love with your spouse!

Weddings one down….one to go

I love Weddings. My two dear friends Diane (Clark’s mom) and Vanette (Jenny’s mom) have children who are getting married within 1 week of each other. I have just been to the wedding of Clark and Lara. God brought together 4 women to strike up a friendship to love , pray and care deeply for one another. Donna and I along with our girlfriends Vanette and Diane are still in prayer for my Daniel and Donna’s Greg future spouses. How awesome to have praying friends who care about you, your spouse and love your children.

Now let me tell you about the ahhhh moment at Clark and Lara’s wedding. You could see the love in the eyes of this couple as they were making their vows. Tears were obviously running down Lara’s cheek so Clark during the ceremony tenderly reached up and wiped away a tear running down Lara’s cheek. Wow….way to go Clark.

Next Saturday, July 26th, my dear friend Vanette’s 1st born Jenny will marry Jessie. I love Jenny with all my heart and am so happy God has answered our prayers for our Jenny.

I thank God for all my friendships…but this group of friends is close on my heart this week as we celebrate over 11 years of prayer being answered this week.

State Fair of Texas Photo Contest

I have always wanted to enter a picture in the State Fair of Texas. I printed the rules today on how to enter the above picture. I took this last week on vacation. I am excited to finally do this. The enter deadline is August 1st.

I Love my Wednesday Night Circle of Friends

I love my Wednesday Night Class….I love my “circle of friends”. The strange thing is that this probably the only time I see most of these women. I feel a closeness to them that is so comforting.

I am going to attempt to share our lessons from our current study …….. What Happens When Women Walk in Faith. We have finished the first 5 Chapters….but for today I will go back and start with the 1st Chapter.

Our first session involves Leaving….Chapter 1 The Map

God will fill in the gaps. Our objective is to find out how God wants to use us for his purpose and plan. Starting something new begins with leaving the old. The ironic thing will be that our circumstances may remain the same but we can be different. We were encouraged not to make our dreams come true with our own strengths and plans…but let them be God’s plans. He asks us to honor Him and do it with a grateful heart. The question was asked…will you surrender your plans of convenience and ease and accept His plans for growth and maturity. We also must realize that our circumstances may not be perfect, but we know whose face to seek when we fall flat on my own.

Quoting from the book….”Trust me-those first steps were the furthest thing from the limelight ministry. They were everyday choices to honor God right where I was: spending time in God’s Word even when the items on my to-do list seemed more urgent.” Here is the KEY…..getting filled with Him first so I can love and give and serve out of an overflow rather than relying on my own strength.

Our challenge: Keep being obedient, keep looking for the next open door of opportunity and above all else hold closely to the Lord.

I thank all my circle of friends for sharing this adventure and encouraging me. You make me laugh, you make cry and you make remember that I am accountable to our great God that we serve.

I know the plans I have for you says the Lord. God please help me not to miss them. I want show up ready and equipped for your Great Adventure.

I struggle with my mouth. I am still trying to over come words that are not reflective of God’s glory and thoughts that lead me down a path of fear. The key to your words are the meditations of your heart. I was obsessing over something today and my precious husband said “I choose not to worry about that today”. I took that to heart. God you are the source of my strength.

Psalm 19:14 May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord my rock and my redeemer.

Like a Child

Mark 10: 14 Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.

Oh to be like a child again! These two teach me so much about pure love and devotion. Their faces light up when I walk in the room and they call my name out in such delight.

How does the Father perceive me when I run to him in prayer?

Psalms 37:4 Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.

Lord let me have a child like faith.

Why Accountable7?

Why the number 7? I played softball back in the 70′s. I was actually a pretty good pitcher and I hit a home run or 2. I was voted MVP! My softball jersy # you might have guessed by now was #7. My good friend Sherry’s grandpa used to call me lucky # 7. I loved that time in my life and who doesn’t like the #7?

Why accountable? I have been a Christian for 33 years…hum…that is an interesting # now that I type it! My confession is that I find myself on a roller coaster of having a faithful quite time with purposeful prayer and Bible study. I have 1 constant Bible study motivation in my life. I have taught a weekly ladies Bible class for over 12 years. We just started a new study two weeks ago… What Happens When Women Walk in Faith. We have been challenged by the author Lisa Terkeurst to ask God what purpose or dream do I have in my life to bring him glory. The key to knowing God is time spent with Him. So, here comes the “accountable” part…..I am going to journal right here on what is popularly known as blogging about my time spent in God’s word. The accountability part will come from knowing my friends and of course my precious husband, Gary, (who by the way has me hooked on reading several blog sites) will be checking up on me to see if I am following through with my desire to really search God’s word daily.
